Since bamboo grows much faster than hardwoods, it is easily replenishable Because of its unique color and texture, bamboo is a very beautiful and elegant flooring material covered by high-end interior designs worldwide. Although many characteristics of bamboo are similar to those of hardwoods, bamboo is not wood.

Environmentally Smart: Bamboo is harvested at maturity at 5 ½ to 6 years, leaving behind a thriving plant and new shoots. The pre-finished planks are coated with water based, solvent-free, five-coat aluminum oxide/scratch resistant polyurethane finish. Teragren is an active member of the U.S. Green building Council.

Sustained Yield Forestry: ONLY select cutting (never clear cutting) is practiced and under the careful guidelines established by the U.S. Dept. of Forestry. Private and Public landholders are all working together to insure that we have an ever growing supply of hardwoods.

Urbanfloor provides sustainable products by acquiring raw materials from ecologically well-managed forests and suppliers. Our products have been installed in various commercial buildings and upscale residential homes across the U.S. and abroad. Our practice is to use only environmentally safe adhesives between each ply of our engineered wood floors.
